A LOT OR TIMESHARE AT APPLE VALLEY, PLEASE READ ON.....

 

Dear Visitor:

    We have learned that a nearby for-profit firm is attempting to sell lots in the Apple Valley community. This firm is not the developer, nor are they affiliated in any way with Apple Valley Resort, which is the timeshare area of the Apple Valley Lake Community. This firm has apparently acquired a number of lots within the community for resale. This firm primarily uses Telemarketers to generate leads. The "pitch" may include promises of free meals at name restaurants, free gasoline if an appointment is made, free vacations to other places (where a sales tour is required), and other incentives.  CAVEAT EMPTOR! (Buyer Beware)
It has been brought to our attention that they frequently imply, or incorrectly state that they are affiliated with Apple Valley Resort, or that the purchase of a lot in Apple Valley Community may provide for use of Apple Valley Resort Condominium property. THIS IS NOT THE CASE! We have no affiliation with anyone who uses telemarketing to offer any product or property. We believe that unsolicited telemarketing is an invasion of the privacy of families and individuals. We are not affiliated with anyone who may offer property of any type for sale, as we do our own sales of timeshare unit weeks. The resort is owned by the owner's association and as such, is not in the business of real estate sales. We added more than 100 new member families in 2001, as a result of their having been our guest and occupying a unit at the resort for their vacation.
    The association's attorney recently sent a letter to the firm mentioned above to cease and desist. This letter demands that they refrain from the use of any reference to "resort" in their offers for sale, in that Apple Valley Resort is a registered name belonging to the Apple Valley Resort Unit Owners Association, Inc. The letter also instructs them to refrain from any representation that Apple Valley Resort is in any way affiliated in their attempt to market or sell property, and that the amenities and condominiums are privately owned for the benefit and enjoyment of Apple Valley Resort members only.
